Update on Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors regulations 250 CMR: Best Practices

Join ACEC/MA, BSCES, MALSCE, and TECET for a free 1-hour webinar on an overview of Professional Practice: A Guide to the Practice of Architecture, Engineering, and Land Surveying in MA given by Paul Tyrell, PE, PLS, Chair of the Board of Registration for Engineers and Land Surveyors. Paul Tyrell, a practicing Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor, will provide attendees with an overview of professional licensure, common complaints received by the Board against engineers and surveyors as well as insight on other professional licensure issues. Joined by Mr. Tyrell is Paul Campbell, PE, PLS and President of MALSCE who will be providing practical guidance to current and prospective licensees on best practices for 250 CMR compliance.

Paul S. Campbell, PE, PLS, Principal and Owner, CHESS Engineering, LLC and MALSCE President
In addition to serving as 2025-2027 MALSCE president, Paul is the is the owner and operator of CHESS Engineering, a land surveying and civil engineering firm specializing in land development. Paul has a bachelor’s in civil engineering from Northeastern University, a master’s in public administration from Clark University, and has worked 20+ years in the private and public sectors.
Paul J. Tyrell, PE, PLS, LEED AP, DBIA, Associate Vice President, HDR, Chair, Massachusetts Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
Paul Tyrell is associate vice president at HDR and is an accomplished professional engineer licensed in MA, ME, NH, RI, VT, CT, and NY and a professional land surveyor in MA. He’s a LEED accredited and certified design build professional with 30 years of experience in land surveying, civil engineering and construction management.

Member Briefings

Building a Better Business Programs

ACEC/Massachusetts is offering members the opportunity to present a business program at an ACEC/MA. These meetings may be held in conjunction with our Membership Meetings. Note: these programs MUST be educational in nature – no sales pitches.

Final selection for programs will be made by the Program Committee. Proposals will be considered in the order they are received. ACEC/Massachusetts guarantee attendance.

To submit your program for consideration, download the RFP form (to be posted soon) and email completed form to ACEC/MA.

Building a Better Business Webinars

ACEC/Massachusetts offers periodic, non-PDH webinars on timely and relevant business topics for engineering professionals.

Business webinars should be no more than  hour and should provide information relevant to our membership (no sales pitches). These webinars does NOT qualify for PDH credit. However, it may meet requirements for other professional development programs. Check with the administrator of your professional program for more information.
